On Saturday 16 February, the body of Elkin Fabián Toro was found in El Tarra, in the Catatumbo region of eastern Colombia. He had been shot at least six times.
Elkin worked on a local radio station and was a member of the local community council, where he supported initiatives connected to the 2016 peace agreement.
Already in 2018, at least 30 social leaders and ten members of the FARC have been killed in Colombia.
