POA prison officers union letter on Colombian army murder of FARC member Dimar Torres

The POA trade union for prison officers has written to the Colombian embassy in Britain to express its concern over the army killing of FARC former guerrilla Dimar Torres, who was killed by soldiers on 22 April this year. Investigations have found that Dimar Torres was deliberately targeted even though he had not committed any hostile acts towards his killers. The case has cast the spotlight on Colombian security forces, along with a series of other human rights violations involving the military which recently forced defence minister Guillermo Botero to resign.
