Parliamentary Friends of Colombia letter on attacks on left-wing political parties

The Parliamentary Friends of Colombia (PFC), a cross-party group of more than sixty MPs in the British Paliament, has written to the Colombian ambassador to Britain to express concern over the 11 October attacks on the Bogota offices of three political parties, the Colombian Communist Party (PCC), the Patriotic Union (UP) and the FARC.

The letter, signed by PFC Chair Jo Stevens MP, said the violent incident ‘undermines the peace process by attacking one of its core principles’. The PFC also asked for information about the investigation into the attacks and whether extra security measures would be implemented as a result.
