Justice for Colombia launched our new photo exhibition in central London last week at an event attended by over 150 people. A new JFC book of the photos entitled 'Resistencia: Portraits of Colombia' was also launched and nearly 200 copies were sold.
The exhibition, which we wrote about here (http://www.justiceforcolombia.org/news/article/65/), was attended by Members of Parliament, trade union leaders and journalists with an interest in Colombia. The images, which included photos of political prisoners, people living in rural villages and shantytowns and people under threat, such as trade unionists and human rights defenders, told a powerful story. Many of the images were purchased on the night.
During 2008 the exhibition will be on tour and cities already confirmed include Edinburgh, Newcastle, Bristol, Cardiff, Leeds and Brussels. Invitations to take the exhibition to Pittsburgh and Havana have also been received. When tour dates are confirmed they will be available on this website.
If you would like to purchase a copy of the book please call the JFC office on 0207 794 3644. It contains over 70 full colour images – each with its own story.
