British Ambassador Meets JFC Project Partner

Justice for Colombia is extremely pleased that the British Ambassador in Colombia has taken the time to meet with senior members of the Permanent Committee for Human Rights (CPDH) Colombia's largest human rights organisation and a JFC project partner. Ambassador John Dew met with CPDH Executive Secretary Jairo Ramirez and the CPDH director Dr Gelasio Cardona to discuss human rights issues and the role of civil society in Colombia. JFC welcomes the meeting as a clear display of support for Colombian human rights defenders and thanks Ambassador Dew for arranging it.

For some years the CPDH and Justice for Colombia have engaged in joint human rights projects in Colombia and at the current time we are funding a CPDH program to provide rehabilitation to victims of torture, assassination attempts and forced displacement. The project has so far benefited hundreds of victims of human rights abuses and has been made possible thanks to the support of several British trade unions, see here for more.
