An official opinion poll carried out by the National Statistics Office of Colombia, known as the DANE by its Spanish initials, has found that only 34 out of every 100 Colombians consider Colombia to be a proper democracy. The survey, of over 15,000 Colombians aged 18 or above, was carried out between September and November 2008 in 24 towns and cities around the country. The full results, currently only available in Spanish, can be seen on the DANE website.
