Former Indigenous Governor Assassinated in Colombia

News has reached the Justice for Colombia office that Edgar Arcadio Ocoro, a well-known indigenous leader in the Colombian region of Cauca, was yesterday assassinated on the 'Corinto Lopez Adentro' reserve where he lived. Mr Arcadio Ocoro, who was shot eight times at around midday whilst standing in front of a community farm on the reserve, had previously been the Governor of 'Corinto Lopez Adentro' and was later responsible for a communal food production project that benefited indigenous people in the area. No further information is available at the current time.
