One man was killed and another injured in an attack on a meeting of the new FARC-formed political party, the Common Alternative Revolutionary Force, in the department of Nariño on 31 October.

Following a regional meeting of party affiliates to discuss issues around political organisation, peace and political integration, two members were attacked as they left the vicinity in the village of San Isidro, in Ricaurte. Orlando García Guanga was killed while Juan Pablo Guanga Guanga was badly hurt. Both men were indigenous Awá and members of the Ramo Mongón community council.

The attack is the latest in a wave of repression targeting people associated with the FARC. More than 35 people have been killed for FARC association since the peace agreement was signed in November 2016.
