Construction Union Leader Wounded in Assassination Attempt

The Colombian construction workers trade union, SUTIMAC, has denounced the attempted murder of Eduardo Arevalo, a member of their National Executive Committee. During the attack, which occured in the city of Barranquilla, Mr Arevalo was shot in the leg. His union have alleged that the attempt on his life was in response to SUTIMAC's support for the national day of protest against state violence that was held in Colombia on March 6th.
