A leading Colombian student activist will be attending the conference of the National Union of Students (NUS) later this month. Numa Paredes, who was forced to leave his home city of Cali due to death threats, will be speaking at an event during the conference that JFC has organised jointly with the trade union Unite. NUS President Gemma Tumelty will also be speaking at the event in Blackpool on Tuesday 1st April.

Mr Paredes will speak to British students about the ongoing abuses being perpetrated against Colombian students, including assassinations, forced disappearances and imprisonment without trial.
