Emigdio Triana, a trade unionist in the banking sector who recently led a successful strike against HSBC in Colombia, is the guest speaker at a February 5th public meeting in London organised by Justice for Colombia and Unite, the British trade union representing bank workers.

The meeting, at 5pm at the headquarters of the TUC (Congress House) in Great Russell Street, just off Tottenham Court Road, will be a chance to hear direct from Emigdio how his union successfully took on the multinational bank despite threats, intimidation and efforts to undermine the strike.

The meeting will be chaired by Unite Deputy General Secretary, Graham Goddard, and will also hear from Labour Party NEC member Ellie Reeves a member of the 'Britain in the World' Policy Commission that makes recommendations to the Labour Party about what international policies should be included in their manifesto.
